The Strangest Names In Australian Political History?

Cornthwaite Hector William James Rason.

Last year's back-to-back posting of oddly named British and Canadian political figures proved to be a big hit, and not long after their publishing, I decided upon a sequel to those lists, comprising political and judicial figures from Oceania (Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand). This list, just under one hundred names long, encompasses not only members of the Australian senate and house of representatives (which came into being following the federation of the six Australian colonies in 1901), but also the legislative assemblies of the Australian states: Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, and Western Australia. Also listed are members of the New Zealand house of representatives and legislative council (the latter becoming defunct in 1951), as well as mayors of cities in both Australia and New Zealand.
